A little history on our Menifee Independence Day Parade by a long time resident, by Marcy Riehm
This event is really our Club's pride and joy and did you know that it is our 17th Annual? I can tell you that we've come along way since those early days when this community was just in it's infancy. We had our first Firework show in 1990, and it consisted of a handful of homeowners, sitting on the south side of La Piedra, because there was nothing but wheatfields on the North side!! Wheatfield Park was just a couple ball fields, and some Mobiles for offices. But we were very proud of ourselves for being able to give our little community it's first Firework Show. Of course I think the show lasted maybe 5 minutes, but hey it was a start!!

BRING YOUR FAMILY OUT TO THE
MENIFEE INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE & CELEBRATION
SATURDAY, JUNE 30TH AT WHEAT FIELD
Join the community of Menifee in our Independence Day Celebration as we parade down La Piedra from the Mt. San Jacinto Campus, towards Menifee Road into our Wheatfield Community Park. Be sure to arrive early and get a good spot on the sidewalk on La Piedra to cheer on our community groups as they proudly parade for the Menifee community. The parade starts at 5pm and brings us to Wheat Field where there will be food and craft vendors, games, and entertainment. It is our biggest event of the year. Bring your family for a fun evening that closes with a SPECTACULAR FIREWORKS SHOW.
The Grand Marshall for the parade will be three Menifee Residents who are all Armed Forces War Vets from: WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, Desert Storm,& the current Iraq Conflict.
The parade is still seeking MORE participants! Contact Marcy Riehm at (951) 377-6089 or email: riehmteam@verizon.net
