Lauren Miller and her Family Need our Community Support!
Two years ago Lauren Miller was a vibrant and energetic teenager, until a mosquito carrying the West Nile Virus, bit her. West Nile Virus, in rare cases, turns into encephalitis leaving you brain damaged. We know this because it happened to precious Lauren. She is now confined to a wheelchair, cannot talk or even move her body voluntarily. She has a feeding tube for her nutrtion intake.
If you can find it in your heart to purchase a T-shirt, a tote bag or wristband, it will help Lauren's family with the cost of their trip to China for UMBILICAL STEM CELL treatments for Lauren. WE ARE SENDING OUT THIS LETTER IN HOPES TO SPREAD THE WORD OF WHAT THE WEST NILE VIRUS CAN DO TO OUR LOVED ONES. WE WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THE DANGER OF MOSQUITOS ESPECIALLY SINCE THE HOT SUMMER MONTHS ARE APPROACHING. PLEASE, PLEASE WHEN YOU GO OUT DOORS AT DUSK, WHEN CAMPING, WHEN NEAR SWAMPY WATERS ETC. PLEASE TAKE CAUTION BY USING REPELLANT WITH DEET. ALSO LONG SLEEVES AND PANTS ARE A GREAT WAY TO PROTECT YOURSELF.IF YOU SEE STANDING WATER THAT ARE BREEDING MOSQUITOS, PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE VECTOR CONTROL ALONG WITH ANY DEAD BIRDS THAT YOU FIND. DO NOT TOUCH THE BIRDS!! I WON'T GO INTO MUCH DETAIL ON HOW IT EFFECTED LAUREN, IF YOU GO TO HER WEB SITE YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF HOW IT HAS CHANGED OUT LIVES FOREVER!!
I KNOW MOST OF YOU HAVE ALREADY HELPED OUT A GREAT DEAL WITH SUPPORTING LAUREN AND HELPING WITH OUR FUNDRAISER'S THAT WE HAVE HAD TO HELP WITH COSTS OF ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS FOR LAUREN. WE THANK EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU. WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR THE SUPPORT.WE HAVE DONE MANY THINGS FOR LAUREN~HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY, INTENSE PHYSICAL THERAPY,STANDING FRAME, EXERCISE TABLE, VITAMINS, HERBS AND LOTS OF OTHER THINGS.THE COST OF HER NEEDS GOES ON AND ON. THE MOST RECENT WAS OUR TRIP TO CHINA FOR UMBILICAL STEM CELLS. IT HAS BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL SO FAR. LAUREN HAS SINCE STARTED EATING BY MOUTH, 3 SMALL MEALS A DAY. SHE COULD ONLY TAKE A FEW BITES HERE AND THERE BEFORE. SHE WOULD STILL GAG AND NOT SWALLOW PROPERLY. SHE ALSO TRACKS WITH HER EYES NOW. THAT IS HUGE. SHE HAS NOT DONE THIS IN ALMOST 3 YEARS. SHE IS MORE ALERT WHEN SHE IS AWAKE.( SHE HAS HER DAYS AND NIGHTS MIXED UP RIGHT NOW) ANYWAY, MOST KNOW THAT WE WANT TO GO BACK TO CHINA FOR MORE TREATMENTS AND WILL BE HAVING MORE FUNDRAISER'S TO HELP WITH THE COST. WE HAVE T-SHIRTS FOR SALE AND TOTE BAGS AND WOULD LIKE TO GET THE SALES ROLLING. SO IF YOU COULD ALL PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE IN YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BOOK MAYBE WE COULD GET THE WORD OUT FASTER.
