Remax Relay for Life

Menifee Valley's 2nd Annual Relay for Life was a SUCCESS!

But our fundraising efforts will continue until we reach our goal.
Read the message below from Lou-Anne Wright, our ACS Relay Coordinator.

All Teams have been asked to raise an additional $400 in our quest to reach our GOAL. 411MenifeeValley.Com is inviting all of the Menifee Community to participate in this necessary fundraiser to help in the fight against cancer. 411MenifeeValley.Com is asking for anyone who has been touched by cancer in their life, via a friend or relative surviving or dying from cancer, to please consider donating $5.00 or more to the American Cancer Society. If we all unite together for one cause, we can make a difference!

Please send all checks to
411MenifeeValley.Com
26100 Newport Road, A12, PMB 305

Make all checks payable to the American Cancer Society.

Thank You Menifee Relayers ... by Lou-Anne Wright Community Development Manager, American Cancer Society

Thanks to all cancer survivors, team captians, team members, committee members, donors, sponsors and volunteers that participated in the 2007 Menifee Relay For Life. The 2nd Annual Relay For Life of Menifee was a great success and experienced a huge amount of growth from 3 to 20 teams.

However we are still $8,000 short of making our goal. The good news is there is still time to fundraise. This means that if each team raises an additional $400.00 we will make our goal! Two teams have already stepped up to hold one last post-event fundraiser.

We have until August 31st to get this done. Let's meet our Relay goal. And let's beat cancer!

Thanks to you, we are making great progress in the fight against cancer through research, education, advocacy and service, and your dollars are directly helping us to save lives, prevent diagnosis, and improve quality of life.

Please email Tricia Richardson, Team Captain Coordinator or Lou-Anne Wright, Relay Manager at (951) 300-1232 or Lou-Anne.Wright@cancer.org if your team can help.

* Matching gift reminder: Don't forget to round up "matching gifts." You can access a matching gifts query tool on www.cancer.org. This is where you can check to see if your employer is part of a "Matching Gift Program" with the American Cancer Society. For example, any employee from Home Depot could donate and Home Depot will match the donation, min $25.00 to a max of $3000.00.

Also, if anyone is interested in serving on the 2008 event planning committee please contact Lou-Anne Wright at (951) 300-1232 or Lou-Anne.Wright@cancer.org.

Come join us in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® of Menifee Valley June 9th-10th. Help us to honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives lost to the disease, and raise money to help fight it – all right here in our community. Much more than a walk around a track, Relay is a time to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember those lost and get inspired to fight back. Those who have shared the same experience find common ground, hope and healing at Relay. By participating, you have the power to continue the American Cancer Society's progress toward a future where cancer doesn't take the lives of our friends and family.

Relay For Life is a community gathering where everyone can participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of runners or walkers keep a member on the track at all times during the event, (significance: because cancer never sleeps!) We need TEAMS, and people to donate their TIME, TALENT and RESOURCES. Throughout the event we honor survivors, and light hundreds of luminaria that are placed on the track in honor of those we've lost to cancer, those fighting cancer, and those who have fought cancer and won. Help us put together teams and help the American Cancer Society raise money for cancer research, education and services.

You, Yes You, can do something to save precious lives and help those battling cancer!

Exciting News!... Get Entertainment, Inc. will have two crews filming at our RELAY FOR LIFE event to document our event. They are looking for 10 volunteers to be production assistants to help the camera men and production crew.

We are in need of more VOLUNTEERS! Please contact louanne.wright@cancer.org to see what you can do!

Join Re/MAX or 411MenifeeValley.Com's Relay Teams and have an experience you'll never forget. Teams are the lifeblood of relay and we need teams! So lace up your sneakers, pack your tents, and sleeping bags and join the fun. Experience great music, food, and contests. If you can not stay for the full 24 hour event, we are happy to have you even for just one hour to walk your part of our relay.

If you want to be part of this WONDERFUL event, and be part of our 411MenifeeValley.Com team, please CONTACT US with your name and contact info and we will provide you with the registration materials. A minimum donation of $10 per participant is required, which means one team of 24 people will bring at least $240.00 to the American Cancer Society. But we can do even more than that. You also have the opportunity to collect personal donations and sponsorships for your participation in this relay.

If you wish to be a Team Captain of your own team, please call the American Cancer Society at (951) 300-1232 and ask for Lou-Anne Wright, our Relay for Life Manager, or you may email her at louanne.wright@cancer.org. We need committee members, volunteers and people to form teams. This is a family event and the entire community is encouraged to participate.

Ceremony of Hope Saturday Night at 9:00om

When the sun goes down, hundreds of luminaria light the way under the stars, and a moment of silence falls during the Ceremony of Hope. Luminaria are those glowing bags that to the naked eye appear to be nothing more than paper sacks filled with sand and candles. But upon closer examination these sacks are actually like people, each with a name and a story to tell. The Ceremony of Hope is one of the most special and moving events of the entire Relay. Everyone gathers around to remember those lost to cancer, support those fighting cancer, and rejoice with those who have fought the disease and won. Luminaria are available for a $5 contribution to the American Cancer Society.

Click here to view and print out a Luminaria Form.
