Read The Nomination Letter:

Nominated by Ms. McKay's student Mason Lynn and Mason's mom Cathy Larson:

I would like to nominate Ms. McKay for teacher of the month because she is an OUTSTANDING teacher! My son was in her class last year and she changed his life. My son is extremely smart and sweet but also has AD/HD which can make having him in class difficult. Ms. McKay was patient, understanding and most of all encouraging. She would take time out of her day to call me to meet with me to keep us posted on his progress. There were even times that she called me from home. Ms. McKay will always hold a special place in our hearts. She is our teacher of the month always!

Do you know a teacher who makes a difference in the lives of students? Someone who knows how to make math really add up or take the sigh out of science?
If so, your special teacher could be honored here.

A Teacher's Poem:

Only A Teacher?

I AM a teacher! What I do and say are being absorbed by young minds who will echo these images across the ages. My lessons will be immortal, affecting people yet unborn, people I will never see or know. The future of the world is in my classroom today, a future with the potential for good or bad. The pliable minds of tomorrow's leaders will be molded either artistically or grotesquely by what I do.

Several future presidents are learning from me today; so are the great writers of the next decades, and so are all the so-called ordinary people who will make the decisions in a democracy. I must never forget these same young people could be the thieves and murderers of the future.

Only a teacher?
Thank God I have a calling to the greatest profession of all! I must be vigilant every day lest I lose one fragile opportunity to improve tomorrow.
